Impact Evaluation of the Firki’s Online Professional Development Programs

Populi partnered with Firki, Teach For India’s online educator professional development platform, to conduct a comprehensive impact evaluation across key synchronous and blended learning programs. As Firki expanded its offerings and reached educators across geographies, they needed rigorous evidence on how their programs influenced teacher practice, instructional quality, and learner experiences.
Our evaluation combined mixed-methods design with deep field inquiry; integrating surveys, interviews, classroom observations, and analysis of participation data. We examined changes in teacher competencies, shifts in instructional behaviours, and the extent to which Firki’s learning experiences translated into tangible improvements in classroom practice. The study also explored how participants applied new strategies, engaged with reflective practice, and navigated classroom and school challenges after completing Firki’s modules.
The evaluation provided Firki with actionable insights, clarified pathways of influence, and offered strategic recommendations to enhance program design, learner engagement, and long-term impact on teaching and learning.
