The i-Saksham Fellowship stands as a flagship initiative of the i-Saksham Education and Learning Foundation, designed exclusively for young women aged 18-35. This program, operating in Bihar, an economically disadvantaged region of India, is meticulously crafted to empower young women through a transformative leadership-building fellowship.
In preparation for the upcoming cohort of i-Saksham’s program, Populi conducted a comprehensive Baseline Study. This study employed a mixed-method approach to establish the starting point for the participants in the fellowship. By delving into the current educational and professional status of the participants, as well as their aspirations for the future, the study sought to provide a holistic understanding of their circumstances.
The survey extended its scope to encompass the perspectives of the participants’ peers and parents, capturing the aspirations and encouragement prevalent within their immediate social network. By doing so, the Baseline Study aimed to create a nuanced and comprehensive foundation upon which the i-Saksham Fellowship could further tailor its support and empowerment initiatives for these young women.
